AFNOA has taken on the task of producing a 2nd Edition of the classy hardbound AF Navigators History book which was first printed over ten years ago. Note: We
will add to the original a new section as an Appendix (for those that wish to), of their Navigator-biography.
This is the only Navigator's History book out there. RIGHT NOW:All members of AFNOA are invited to send in their Biography along with two pictures to be in the book, with a commitment to buy the book when we get it printed. No money is needed until we are ready to publish. WE'll keep you posted.
Turner Publishers require we order at least 150 books to even look at this 2nd Editoin effort. We are with over 110 commitments as of Jan 20, 2009. We estimate the cost in the end will be apx $50 per book and $5 to mail-deliver to you. All Navigators of all types are asked to join in, join AFNOA, and get into this Navigator's History book. In the book are chapters on Navigation aids, nav-instruments, nav-schools, early history, personal stories, missions, the planes crewed by navs and a Nav-Time-Line.
In this edition we will also include a full "Roster" of the current Membership (1,400 members) as an appendix. This roster is a great locator tool. It includes full name, full address, phone number, and nav school.
