2015: April, AFNOA invites "ALL NAVs - ALL TYPES" to join in the proud celebration of the flight heritage of having been a "NAV."
We say, "ALL Navs" because the USAF/AAF/AETC etc., could never quite figure out who or what we are, or were doing, thus the range of titles given to us,…but we were needed for a successful mission and still are!
2015: April Reunion will be at downtown Pensacola, Florida. We are working on the hotel contract at this moment (Dec 2013). Plan now for 2015. Contact Ron Barrett: firstname.lastname@example.org or call 305-797-0745 We are seeking Candidates for the Board at this time. Think about it. We could use your skills. Join us.
Day-One: Will be a registration day with snacks&bar and fun reunite-crew day. Day-Two: Full day tour with lunch at the National Museum of Naval Aviation and the USAF Combat System Officer (CSO) school on Naval Air Station - Pensacola. Day-Three: First half will be the AFNOA organization business meeting in which all are encouraged to participate as herein is where we go over expenses (mostly DR Ahead & scholarships out lays) and elect new board members. Any member can run for any position (positions are posted in every DR AHEAD, quarterly news letter). There will be tours offered (Eglin AFB is just east of NS-P) and that evening a banquet dinner+bar for all. That ends the Reunion.
AFNOA, Because it is a 501.C.19 (veterans non-profit) organization has a very serious side, which we are all very proud of. It is because AFNOA is an "organization" we have been able to support Navigator displays in aviation museums, have an archive in the USAF/Historical Research Agency at Maxwell AFB and have now copies of the AF Navigators' Comprehensive History (11,000 pages pdf high resolution image files of nav-history documents/manuals/photos) in the USAF Academy and Air University. Also over 100 members have received a copy of this AFNOA copyright AF Navigators' Comprehensive History via USB-flash/thumb drives. None of these tasks would have been accomplished without the dedication of the AFNOA membership as there were direct costs. Additionally AFNOA members as shown here provide and support the nav-web sites. Great work and dedication. Copies of the Navs'-History are available through AFNOA
Please pass the word about the 2015 Reunion and join. We have a proud heritage to share.
Thanks to all ahead, Ron Barrett, AFNOA President&Historian
